OBJECTIVES
As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Create a 60 second vodcast commercial to inform students how to use social media responsibly
2. Set up account settings for privacy on social media sites
3. Suggest rules such as using a computer in a common area,.......
4. Explain ownership rights of user data collected by social media
5. Identify online bullying and how to prevent
6. Understand what content is appropriate and inappropriate to share on social media
7. Students will learn how to incorporate the THINK strategy by creating a 60 second vodcast PSA on social media posting.
PROCEDURE
1. Show students a statistic on cyberbullying or something similar
2. Explain what vodcasting is and the easiest way of getting started
3. Present students with an example of a vodcast that has been attached to some form of social media site.
4. Students create 60 second vodcast commercial using laptops
5.Students peer edit each other's vodcasts for grammar, spelling, etc
6. Teacher viewing and feedback
7. Upload vodcast PSA to Youtube (or something similar)
8. Share link to vodcast PSA
9. Presentation in class.
